Last year I lived in Fes, Morocco, North Africa, to be a nanny for 2 young kids while their parents studied Arabic. I myself studied a little Arabic (5 weeks in all) and picked some up from friends.
Toward the end of the year I met a team in the North of Morocco and travelled with them for a couple of weeks. We stayed in Fes for a while, and the last night of it we went to he top of a mountain looking over the city. The next morning, Phil shared some stuff thats going on in Fes, and we turned to look at the city and pray. I looked and was overwhelmed. It was so big...it needed something so big. Then I felt God say, "Are you willing to come here?" This was so unexpected - it was obviously not from me - I never would have chosen Fes to come back to! I wasn't sure if the question was meaning 'you're going to come back here in the future' or just 'you have to be willing to do ANYTHING, including going somewhere you never planned, or even didn't want to!'. SO who knows, I might be going back!!!
I now live in Edinburgh, studying Geography, Linguistics and Social Anthropology. Not sure which one I'll major in, but there are exciting opportunities up ahead! I work in a deli, known as Victor Hugo (no, he's not my boss....) and do fun stuff like drum, dance, and emmm write essays......
